Acknowledgements
Last updated:
Bicho uses open protocols and third-party software for error reporting and investigation. This page summarizes the core acknowledgements and links to the notices shipped with each project. Components retain their upstream licenses.
OpenTelemetry
Bicho accepts exception and error logs using the OpenTelemetry Protocol (OTLP) over HTTP JSON and binary protobuf.
Sentry compatibility
Bicho accepts Sentry error envelopes and legacy store requests using the Sentry envelope format.
Core interoperability tests use @sentry/browser 11.8.0 and @sentry/node 11.8.0 from the Sentry JavaScript SDK. These packages are MIT-licensed, copyright Functional Software, Inc. dba Sentry (2019 for the browser package and 2023 for the Node package). Their license texts are included in the installed packages.
These SDKs are development dependencies used for testing, not runtime dependencies of Bicho’s collector. The MIT designation applies to those SDK packages, not to Sentry’s server or every component in its ecosystem. Compatibility does not imply affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.
Vendored schemas
The Bicho core distribution includes third-party definitions in its vendored protocol sources:
- OpenTelemetry protocol schemas, copyright the OpenTelemetry Authors, under Apache-2.0.
- google.rpc.Status, copyright Google LLC, under Apache-2.0.
- The Protobuf
google.protobuf.Anydefinition included in the compiled descriptor, copyright Google Inc., under its BSD license.
Original copyright headers and license texts are retained with the vendored files. These definitions are included in the core distribution, not presented here as files bundled with this documentation website.
SDK notices
Each SDK maintains its own acknowledgements and dependency information:
- JavaScript and Node.js SDK acknowledgements
- PHP SDK acknowledgements
- Rust SDK acknowledgements
- Python SDK acknowledgements
The Astro integration uses the JavaScript SDK. See its license and the JavaScript SDK acknowledgements above.
Website fonts and licensing
This website uses General Sans from Fontshare under the Fontshare license.
Acknowledgement does not replace a required license or attribution notice. For the Bicho software licenses and separate terms for website content, fonts, and branding, see the license page.
